We are pleased to announce that we have been awarded the Quality Practice Award, the highest award for quality in Primary Care from the Royal College of General Practitioners.
This award from the Royal College of General Practitioners recognises “Practice teams who have demonstrated both clinical and organisational excellent practice in the delivery of primary care”.
The award is the culmination of 18 months of preparatory work and a full day inspection visit from a team consisting of a GP, Nurse and lay assessor who spent weeks beforehand reviewing our portfolio of evidence. The assessors report noted:
“There is a strong cohesive Practice team”
“Patients are well served by innovative approaches to their care”
“The approach to the care of patients at the end of life delivers excellent outcomes”
“The patients we met were overwhelmingly positive about their views of the Practice”.
The Practice becomes one of only a handful of Practices in the UK to have successfully passed reaccreditation.
This is the second time the Practice has received this award, the first time being in 2007.
