We welcome all young people to our surgery and we will respect your privacy, dignity and religious or cultural beliefs.

Our mission is to help you stay physically and  emotionally healthy!

Our doctors and nurses can give you help and advice about any worries you have about your health including, sexual health and contraception (more about that later), weight issues, skin problems, stress, alcohol, drugs smoking and lots more.

We know it can be a bit scary talking to a doctor or nurse about your worries so here are some top tips to help you.

  • If you feel nervous bring a trusted friend or relative with you.
  • If you are worried you will forget to mention something write a list and bring it with you.
  • Don’t be afraid to ask the doctor/Nurse to explain things if you don't understand.

How to make an appointment:

Please ring 01434 603627 or book online.  See elsewhere on this site for more information on getting online access.

If you need to be seen that day for emergency contraception (morning after pill) please let the receptionist know that you urgently need to see a GP the same day and she will book you in.

Confidentiality

We provide a confidential service to all our patients, including young people under the age of 16.  This means that you can be sure that anything you discuss with any member of the Practice – doctors, nurses or receptionists – will remain private.

The only reason why we might have to consider passing on confidential information without your permission, would be to protect you or someone else from serious harm and we would try to discuss this with you first.

Drop-in Clinic

We have a young persons' clinic drop-in clinic every Monday from 4:00pm to 5:00pm.  You do not need an appointment for this clinic - just turn up and check in at reception.  The clinic is run by a nurse with a GP available if needed.  In this clinic we can offer a wide range of service, similar to what we can do in a routine booked appointment:

Sexual Health

  • Testing for Chlamydia
  • Contraception including pills, injection and implants
  • Emergency contraception ("morning after pill")
  • Referral for pregnancy termination
  • Pregnancy testing
  • C-card

Stop Smoking

  • Advice and support to help you quit.

Asthma Check

If you have asthma you really need to be reviewed at least once every year. Even if you feel OK right now you still need a review! A lot of problems that asthma causes can be helped by having a regular review.

Get Involved

We are always looking for help in improving our service. Whether you'd like to redesign our young people's leaflet, proof-read a survey or even join our Patient Participation Group (PPG) please contact our Business Manager, Simon Guy at This email address is being protected from spambots.
